About

Eleanor is a Director from South East London, who trained as a dancer at The BRIT School and The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Whilst training as a dancer she realised she wanted to create, and was pushed to choreograph. She then went on to choreograph a Contemporary Dance Theatre piece called "6teen", which explored her mental health with the passing of her dad. Due to the nature of the piece it received funding to be performed to sold out audiences in both Liverpool and London.

Having graduated in 2020, Eleanor then discovered a passion for film. Playing around in Lockdown with the idea of pursuing Directing, she then started directing friends dancing and existing in space. In 2021 Eleanor decided to start a Masters in Contemporary Dance at London Contemporary Dance School. She wanted to explore movement specifically in a creative space and focusing on learning the basics in film too. As a Masters Student she then started to connect with fellow Directors to shadow or gain credits as Movement Director, working with the likes of Sons of Kemet, and Wes Nelson.

Whilst still studying Eleanor then was commissioned to direct videos for the likes of Biyi, Lakuna, and Lagoon Wavey. As part of her Masters, Eleanor decided to make the Documentary and Installation, "Women, Space and Dance". This explored the thesis of "the body keeps the score", where women would finally have a space to discuss issues that have affected their career such as Motherhood, Race, Confidence, Lack of Opportunities, Queerness, Disabilities, and Abortion.

Now working as a freelance artist, Eleanor's focus is in direction. Having been commissioned work for Pull and Bear, Girls United X Nike, VEVO, and for artists such as D Double E, Gabzy, Clara, Miss La Familia, and Natalie Shay. Eleanor still has her roots in movement, working as a Movement Director and Choreographer - credits include Giff Gaff, Aitch, Arrdee, Chase and Status, and Nina Simone.

Alongside her work in Direction and Choreography, Eleanor is extremely passionate about helping others through art. She won "The Paul McCartney's Human Spirit Award", for her volunteering work working with refugees, the homeless community in Liverpool and London, and teaching dance to SEN children. Community will always be at the base of Eleanor's work, she is really passionate about telling stories fuelled by art for change.  She was one of five women who curated award winning community garden, "Gaia's Garden". Eleanor is passionate about creating change for other women in the industry and leading with love when working.
